- April 24, 2024: The 800w Alternator Charger is officially released at $599 in the US.
EcoFlow leaked this banner on their Australia site yesterday about some new alternator charging device charging a DELTA in the back of an SUV. A big thank you to Darlene T. (a.k.a. EcoGirl) for finding this. It looks very similar to the EcoFlow PowerStream sold in Europe, not available in the United States, except instead of being a grid tied inverter it likely is a voltage booster to take 12v and high amps and convert it to higher volts and lower amps.
Here is the product listing on the EcoFlow Australia website with few details, no pricing, and no pictures. What is notable is the 800w of charging as well as "A 3-in-1 fast charger, maintainer, and jump start." So not only can you use the 800w Alternator Charger to charge a DELTA, it appears you can reverse it and use the DELTA to charge, maintain, and jump start the vehicle battery.
Prior to this, vehicular charging options were:
The 800w Alternator Charger appears to be very similar to a Victron voltage booster that this YouTuber used to feed his DELTA 2 via the solar inputs, except this box probably feeds the Xt150 ports.
EcoFlow’s Cammy Yuan posted this call for beta testers in the EcoFlow Outdoor&RV Living Facebook Group (formerly known as the EcoFlow PowerKits Group - I have all sorts of questions and suspecions about the recent name change... but I digress) This 800w Alternator Charger seems to be this new device needing beta testers. She later followed up with an announcement of the users selected to test this.
EcoFlow graciously provided ECOHOLICS with some pics.
It is always exciting when EcoFlow adds a new product to their portfolio. I cannot wait to get my hands on one to try it out and hoping that it is compatible with my DELTA Pro for my Airstream renovation.
